Panos Gklistis, born in 1985, is a Greek composer, pianist and performer currently based in the Netherlands.

His musical voyage began unofficially a year before enrolling in a local music school, as he imitated his elementary music teacher and played every children's song taught in class at home. This early engagement honed his instinct for harmony, structure, and timing, propelling him into composition experiments at just 8 years old—a practice he has never ceased.

At 18, he relocated to Thessaloniki to study music composition under Giorgos Kyriakakis and classical piano with Lola Totsiou. His educational journey led him to the Netherlands in 2009, where he continued his composition studies with Luc Brewaeys.

Panos has been active as a pianist, composer and stage performer in a variety of formats, including solo and chamber music concerts, film and theater productions, installations, and recordings. His primary aim is refining his artistic language to achieve simpler, more direct, and intimate audience engagement. His interest in new music theater has spurred the creation of unique staged works, including “A Bloody Fruity Opera,” the Children’s Opera “Dale the Snail,” and “When Green Turns to Grey.”

Furthermore, he has organized the annual interdisciplinary festival “Evenings Without Wanda” from 2015 to 2019 and collaborates with Theofilos Lamprianidis in the DollyPop piano duo. He is a member of the AKOM ensemble, dedicated to contemporary and new music, and the IAL collective, which prioritizes interdisciplinary collaborations and improvisation as a creative starting point.

Panos earned a Bachelor's degree in composition from the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, Greece (2008), a Bachelor in Piano from Codarts, Rotterdam (2013), and a Master's in Piano from Fontys, Tilburg (2015). The flexible study programs allowed him to study composition with Luc Brewaeys,Klaas de Vries and René Uijlenhoet, classical and contemporary piano with Hans Eijsackers, Hakon Austbo, Ellen Corver, Jelena Bazova, and explore staging/dramaturgy with Barbara Duijfjes.
